Colette Ashe

Colette graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design (1991) then completed a Masters of Arts in Fashion and Textiles, specialising in Knitwear at Nottingham Trent University. (1995).

At that time, CAD/CAM was in its infancy. Colette could see the possibilities, little did she know that 20 years later she would work on a machine capable of producing fabulously beautiful complex fine yarn intarsia knitwear. To understand this medium takes 20 years of experience, to make it as she has taken immense talent and determination combined.

She has travelled extensively living in The Netherlands for a few years, working mainly with high street brands, eventually returning to Ireland and working for Lainey Keogh.

Whilst getting three beautiful children through the first few years of their lives, building a house and studio running a distribution business with her Husband, Colette always planned a return to knitting as she always had dreamed of.

Drawing on memories of hand knitting with her mum , Winifred Ashe, Colette’s answer to the question “what do you want to be when you grow up?” was always clearly and unequivocally

“I want to be a Knitwear Designer”
